“His refusal to direct dialogue with the republics of Donbass is a clear evidence of the short-sighted policy of the new authorities of Ukraine. We are very disappointed, ”said Pushilin.
The head of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) Leonid Pasechnik on his official website said that Zelensky used the theme of peace exclusively as a slogan of his campaign and was not going to follow it. He is also sure that the policy of the new Ukrainian leader will not differ from the policy of Poroshenko.
On Monday, June 17, during an official visit to Paris, Zelensky corrected French President Emmanuel Macron when he mentioned the readiness of the President of Ukraine to speak with residents of Donbass. Zelensky emphasized that Kiev does not intend to engage in dialogue with the so-called separatists.
