On Thursday, June 27, a meeting of the leaders of the LPR and the DPR Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin with Medvedchuk was held in Minsk, at which the heads of the republics agreed to transfer several prisoners of war. According to the deputy, representatives of the LPR and DPR gave him the passports of Ukrainians.
Dmitry Velikiy, sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment under the article “carrying out terrorist activities”, Yakov Veremeychik, accused of genocide and the use of prohibited means of war, Eduard Mikheev, convicted under the article of state treason, and Maxim Goryainov, sentenced to 15 years in prison for promoting terrorist activities.
The last and largest exchange of prisoners between the parties to the conflict since the start of hostilities took place on December 27, 2017, when the Ukrainian side transferred 237 people to the People’s Republics, and Donetsk and Lugansk – 74.
